So you want to apply sustainable design principles in your building design. Now what is the design process to get there? This mobile course will explore integrated design principles and will share practical case studies to help you as you embark on sustainable building design projects.
What is this 'Microlearning Course' about?
This course explores design process concepts for sustainable buildings and it's benefits. It will highlight the importance of an integrated design approach to achieve sustainability targets and also touch on the current traditional design process as a means of comparison.
It will also attempt to contextualize these concepts to Singapore's built environment sustainability aspirations. Theoretical concepts are explored by using case studies of existing projects to highlight good practices together with simple multimedia online activities.
Who is this course designed for?
This is suitable for those who have completed the 'Sustainable Design Principles' course as this serves as a detailed elaboration of the design process. However this is also applicable to anyone who is interested in the design process of sustainable buildings and keen on understanding how these sustainability goals are managed.
What will you take away?
At the end of the course, you will have learned the process of how a typical building is designed and in contrast, appreciate the more desirable integrated design process for a sustainable designed building. Several online resources will be dispensed throughout the program that can be used as guides or reference for someone who is about to embark on a design project.
