Elaine Kim is a medical doctor, entrepreneur and educator. A passionate advocate for involved parenthood alongside career success, she is the CEO of Trehaus, an integrated co-lifestyle space for families with a preschool and childcare, office space and family club. The flagship space at Funan near Singapore’s CBD is helmed by Trehaus school, a Silicon Valley-inspired preschool and childcare that is changing early education, focuses on building character and future skills, and lets parents be present for their children’s learning journey.
Elaine is also the co-founder and CEO of CRIB, a social enterprise that empowers women to become successful entrepreneurs through: (1) CRIB Society's business network, (2) CRIB Match which provides start-ups access to human resource and funding, eg through CRIB Angels Club (a network of investors), and (3) CRIB EQUIP which provides access to training and mentorship.
An experienced entrepreneur and angel investor, her other businesses included Trinity Bridal in Hong Kong and Trinity Gallery in Singapore, which carry exclusive retail distributorships for leading luxury gown designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier and Carolina Herrera.
As a freelance travel journalist, she also contributes to magazines including Tatler and Robb Report.
Actively involved in philanthropy, she has led awareness-building and fund-raising initiatives for charities such as BMDP, HCA Hospice Care, Dover Park Hospice and RiverKids, raising over $1 million for causes that support patients with cancer, the terminally ill and and victims of trafficking. She was an ambassador for UN Women's SNOW (Say "No" to the Oppression of Women"). She also launched CRIB's philanthropic arm CRIB Gives Back, which helps raise funds for charities, supports social enterprises and engages the philanthropic community, including through its "Holiday for Hope" programme which supports local communities in need in Cambodia and Nepal.
She is a member of the Milken Young Leaders Circle and was selected as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader (WEF YGL). She is also a member of the International Women's Forum (IWF) and actively involved in the Young President's Organisation (YPO).
